The species known as Ramapithecus was found in the Siwalik foothills of north western Himalayas. The species believed to be the first in the line of hominids (Human Family) lived some 14 million years ago.India has 17 major languages and 844 different dialects. The Sanskrit of the Aryan settlers has merged with the earlier Dravidian vernaculars to give rise to new languages. Researchers have found that a species resembling the Austrapithecus lived in India some 2 million years ago. Even this discovery leaves an evolutionary gap of as much as 12 million years since Ramapithecus.
There are many diverse ethnic groups among the people of India. The 6 main ethnic groups are as follows.

Apart from farming casts some tribes are also reside in Rajasthan and all of them have their own communal systems and traditions, among all the tribes some common are Bhil, Meena, Garasia, Sansi, Kanjar.
Rajasthan has a huge population of Meenas in Jaipur, Alwar, Bharatpur, and Dholpur regions. Some other are The Meo and the Banjara that basically known as traveling businessmen. The Gadia Lohar, basically ironsmith who travels on bullock carts. After meenas, next majority goes to The Bhils, who are residing in Bhilwara, Chittaurgarh, Dungarpur, Banswara, Udaipur, and Sirohi districts. Mewar region is full with Grasia and Kathodies. Kota has majority of Sahariyas.
